Introduction

Breast Augmentation is a surgical procedure designed to enhance the size and shape of the breasts, tailored to meet each individual’s personal goals and body proportions. Whether the motivation is to restore volume lost after pregnancy, achieve symmetry, or simply feel more confident with your body contour, breast enlargement offers a long-term solution through the placement of breast implants.

Our experienced Consultant Surgeon, Mr Ian Morgan, provides a bespoke approach to breast augmentation, ensuring your final results look natural, balanced, and in harmony with your overall figure. We work closely with you to understand your desired outcome, offering expert guidance on implant type, size, and shape to deliver safe and satisfying results.

What is Breast Augmentation?

Breast augmentation is performed by inserting silicone or saline breast implants to increase the fullness and projection of the breasts. The procedure is carried out under general anaesthetic, with incisions placed discreetly—most commonly under the breast fold—to minimise visible scarring. Implants are positioned in a dual plane, beneath both the breast tissue and chest muscle, to achieve a natural contour and shape.

There are various reasons why individuals choose breast augmentation, including:

• Enhancing naturally small breasts

• Restoring breast volume after pregnancy or weight loss

• Balancing uneven or asymmetrical breasts

• Reconstructing breast shape following surgery or trauma

• Correcting breast abnormalities or underdevelopment

• Revising or replacing previous implants for cosmetic or medical reasons

Each procedure is tailored to the individual. The type, size, and profile of the implant—as well as the surgical approach—will be based on your anatomy, lifestyle, and aesthetic goals, as well as your surgeon’s recommendation.

Who is a Good Candidate for Breast Augmentation?

Breast augmentation may be suitable for individuals who are in good health, have realistic expectations, and wish to enhance the appearance of their breasts. However, this surgery is not suitable for women with untreated breast cancer, active infections, or those who are pregnant or breastfeeding. People undergoing chemotherapy or taking immunosuppressive medication, or who have conditions that affect wound healing or blood supply to the breast, may have a higher risk of complications and will be carefully assessed during consultation.

The Procedure

Your journey begins with a one-to-one consultation with Mr Ian Morgan, where we will explore your aesthetic goals and help you choose the most appropriate implant shape, size, and placement. On the day of surgery, you’ll be placed under general anaesthetic. A discreet incision is made, typically under the breast fold, and the implant is carefully positioned to suit your anatomy and the desired result. The procedure generally takes 60 to 90 minutes, and you will return home the same day with full post-operative support and guidance. Over the following weeks, as swelling settles and the tissue adjusts, your enhanced shape will gradually be revealed.

Recovery & Aftercare

Recovery from breast augmentation is generally smooth. You may experience some tightness, swelling, and discomfort in the first few days, which can be managed with medication. Most patients can resume light daily activities within 1–2 weeks, with full recovery expected in 4–6 weeks. We advise wearing a supportive post-surgical bra during recovery and avoiding strenuous exercise or heavy lifting until cleared by your surgeon. Follow-up appointments will be scheduled to monitor your healing, answer any questions, and ensure your recovery is progressing as expected. Over time, scars will fade and the breasts will settle into their final position, revealing your new, enhanced silhouette.

Important

Following your breast augmentation at Neo Medical, careful post-operative care is essential to ensure a smooth recovery and the best possible results. You may experience swelling, tightness, and mild discomfort in the chest area during the initial days after surgery—this is normal and will gradually subside. Wearing a supportive surgical bra as instructed will help reduce swelling and support the healing tissues. It’s important to avoid heavy lifting, strenuous exercise, and sleeping on your front for several weeks, as these can affect implant positioning and overall healing. Most patients return to light activities and work within 7 to 10 days, depending on the nature of their job. Attending all scheduled follow-up appointments is vital, allowing our team to monitor your progress and provide guidance tailored to your recovery. Scars are typically hidden beneath the breast fold and will fade over time with proper care. At Neo Medical, your safety and satisfaction are our priority. We are here to support you throughout your recovery journey, ensuring you feel confident, comfortable, and fully informed at every stage.
